Vintage Polish Posters | Seksmisja | Sex Mission Movie

Sex Mission is a 1984 cult comedy, science fiction, action film about two scientists that are placed in hibernation, to be awakened after three years. But when they wake up, it turns out that it has been fifty years, and they are the only two males left in a new, underground society composed exclusively of women. It contains hidden political satire specific to the time and place of its production but still relevant today, that is, satire directed at inter-gender conflict, the socialist-feminist system, and/or totalitarianism. Creator of this fine poster, Cyprian Koscielniak (b. 1948), is a Polish artist who studied Applied Graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Poland, under professorship of the great Henryk Tomaszewski. From 1984 through 1986, he was an assistant professor at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdansk, where he ran the Graphic Design Studio. Since 1986, he has been living and working in Amsterdam as an illustrator. From 1986 to 1994, he was a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Groningen and from 1995 to 2016 at universities in The Hague and Utrecht. He works with such newspapers as Der Speigel and the New York Times.
