The Rosenberg Poster Collection is the most comprehensive pre-1945 and post-war collection of original Polish posters covering movies, theater, music, jazz, opera, dance, sports, political, circus, exhibitions and rare product advertising. The collection represents, in depth, the work of the leading artists from the acclaimed Polish School of Design. Posters from the Collection have been publicly exhibited in ten states, including museums, government buildings, universities, art galleries, theaters, international film festivals and fine restaurants. With a world-wide clientele, MR Posters is pleased to include many leaders from film and stage such as Robert Altman, Ali Macgraw, Marlo Thomas, Kathy Baker, Gene Hackman, Joan Tewkesbury, Michael Cohen, Jennie Jones, and Kirk Ellis as acquirers of film and theater posters from the Collection. Martin Rosenberg, President of MR Posters, has collaborated in the production of two major books on Polish Posters, authored published articles in magazines and news media, been quoted in major news features including the international edition of the Wall Street Journal, consulted on a soon-to-be-released documentary on Polish posters and spoken before numerous college and public audiences. After living in Chicago for 25 years, Martin Rosenberg and the Gallery Collection now happily reside in Santa Fe, New Mexico. “The Polish designer has been trained as an artist first and foremost and he brings his artistic expertise to the poster. The exceptional Polish poster is thus a work of art rather than a conventional advertising placard.” Elena Millie, Curator (ret.) of the Poster Collection The Library of Congress, Washington, D.C. “For half a century Polish posters have been creative statements trafficking in ideas rather than commodities. Profession is the right word in Poland where graphic art is accorded the status of traditional disciplines such as architecture and medicine.” Philip B. Meggs, Author, A History of Graphic Design
